Macfadden is seeking a Program Assistant supporting the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Office of Food for Peace (FFP). The Program Assistant will provide dedicated support to FFP’s Policy, Partnerships, Program and Communications (PPPC) Division through tasks including, but not limited to, coordinating conference logistics, taking meeting notes, monitoring Congressional testimonies and hearings, liaising with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, maintaining files, and processing administrative paperwork.
Responsibilities:
Duties include but not limited to:
- Taking formal meeting notes and tracking action items on a daily basis.
- Editing notes and documents for consistency in format, grammar, and content.
- Coordinating logistics and materials for stakeholder meetings.
- Maintaining contact lists and managing email campaigns through Constant Contact.
- Monitoring and taking notes for Congressional hearings, NGO and think tank events, and other
- relevant forums.
- Researching information for routine reports and data requests.
- Maintaining internal filing system.
- Preparing administrative forms.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree required with 1-4 years’ of professional/office experience, including internships.
Skills: Must have strong writing, editing, and communication skills. Time management and the ability to prioritize a diverse set of tasks is essential. Must have strong attention to detail
and work well with others in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite is required. An in-depth understanding of Excel, especially the use of pivot tables, as well as experience organizing charts and data tables is useful. Familiarity with the U.S. Government and/or the UN system is preferred.
U.S. Citizenship is required; selected candidate must be able to qualify for a government sponsored security clearance.

The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
